Rely.io Update Roundup - July 2024

Welcome to the July edition of our monthly update roundup. This month, we've introduced several exciting features and improvements designed to enhance your experience when navigating Rely.io and interacting with your Software Catalog. Let’s dive into the highlights!

Scorecards are now embedded in your Team and Service pages

To assess the progress of different Services or Teams in complying with a specific standard like DORA, you could already rely the Scorecards menu👇

But when focusing your assessment on a specific Service or Team, you want to do it directly in its context with no extra navigation. This is now possible with the new default Scorecards tab added to all your entities in the Software Catalog.

It also comes with a slew of small improvements to the general Scorecards experience in rely.io:

  • All-New Scorecard Tab & Progress Display: Track your performance metrics with our redesigned scorecard tab and new progress display, providing detailed insights at a glance.
  • Source icon for Scorecard Rules: Quickly identify the plugins your rules are pulling data from when computing your Scorecards progress.

Improved Data Management and Display

Managing and analyzing your data is now more efficient with our latest enhancements to tables:

  • Advanced Table Filter Operators: New filtering operators like “in” and “contains” make sorting and analyzing your data more efficient and precise.
  • Data Type Enhancements: Enjoy improved handling of data types, including array edition, relation and datetime filtering, and enhanced user display features.

Enhanced User Interface and Navigation

Navigating through Rely.io has never been easier. To make more room for content display we’ve revamped our navigation controls with a major sidebar update and a new topbar, streamlining your workflow and making it simpler to find what you need quickly.

  • The main menu is now a floating menu and no longer takes space from your content or trigger responsive updates when opened.
  • The menu now tracks and reflects your position in the software catalog as you navigate links from entity to entity.

Additionally, we’re in the process of transitioning to a new layout and design system which  marks a significant step towards a more cohesive and modern user interface.

On the Horizon

Features like:

  • Self-hosted integrations that run closer to your systems and tools for more security and flexbility thanks to our new Galaxy Framework
  • Out-of-the-box Self Service actions to scaffold new services, provision infrastructure and more so your developers can build with autonomy, efficiency and confidence.
  • Scorecard General Leaderboard to track for each standard you care about its adoption and progress across all Services.
  • New Widgets for the Dashboards (Pipeline, Timeline, Pie Chart, etc.) to unlock new views for your use cases.
  • In-Product Documentation to find the most contextually relevant help within your workflows in rely.io and relying on our documentation only for the more detailed explanations.
